Cleveland Indians Fan In Redface Meets A Native American

The photo says it all:

Deadspin explains:

The photo comes from our friend Cleveland Frowns. There's a lot to take in here. The IIIIIIIIIIII'm probably fucking up here look on the guy's face as he goes in for a handshake. The thousand-yard stare he gets in return. The disapproving-dad look from the guy in the newsboy hat. The guy in the back right who is presumably taking a photo, like several other mortified onlookers, but by his expression could just as easily be watching his grandma reenact 2 girls 1 cup on his phone. The air-brushed shirt that, from a crude understanding of how air-brushed shirts work, appears to be a eulogy for several former Indians players who aren't actually dead.

This should put to rest "if you hate the word 'Redskins' your too political correct" that BS claim.

So I agree, but how far do we go with it. Does it mean I should not buy a Jeep Cherokee ? Nobel_Twaddle_III Apr 2014 #4

But plenty still deny it because they either don't give a damn, or because being allowed to be bigots in public gives them a little thrill. Even on DU there are people that will insist it isn't an issue for anyone but the overly PC leftists. I'm guessing someone will pop in and explain to you that the real victim of oppression in this picture is that poor white guy that was put on the spot like that. He might have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for the headdress. Without that, I'd assume he was someone from Maine that thought laying in the sun on the Gulf Coast was a good idea. I love the "Are you fucking kidding me?" expression on the guy's face.

The BS politically correct claim should've been laid to rest long ago when everyone kept pointing out the same ridiculous arguments used to defend racist logos are the ones used to defend flying the confederate flag over state buildings.

Would not this iconic brand also be racist?

It seems quite strange you can't tell the difference between the two.

Slowly but they are changing.

There used to be a creek in Wyoming called old squaw creek. It had been named that for who knows how long.
It has now been changed to old woman creek.

It sickens me that stuff like that confrontation has to happen for some people to manage to have a tiny, dim bulb start flickering in their heads.

And STILL some of these assholes will defend this shit.
