(37,457 posts)I'm betting the eel probably died from blood(?) loss.

(19,877 posts)In Florida, gators are feared by anyone and everyone with a lick of sense. They can actually crawl pretty fast. They eat small dogs near ponds and lakes. I'm sure a lot of people have been eaten for dinner also. Not an animal to mess with unless you're highly skilled and have the right equipment.

(56 posts)What's the point of electricity if the eel can't survive anyway? Revenge?

(50,566 posts)That is so ... primeval.
Was the eel trying to wriggle up on land to escape the gator? Looks like a re-enactment of the early stages of fish evolving into amphibians.

(108,458 posts)While alligators and caimans are closely related the alligator has a wider head. Caimans and electric eels also share a habitat in South America.
