Donations pour in for Phoenix mom facing charges

PHOENIX (AP) — A Phoenix woman arrested after leaving her two kids in a hot vehicle during a job interview is fighting to clear her name in court, with the support of a New Jersey woman who has raised more than $91,000 to help her effort.

Unemployed and on food stamps, Shanesha Taylor went to the job interview last month at a Scottsdale insurance company.

The 35-year-old wasn't able to find a sitter, so she left her 2-year-old son and 6-month old baby in her Dodge Durango with the key still in the ignition and the windows rolled down an inch.

Talk about neglecting your kid! He simply didn't count the kids he was dropping off at day care.

8 hours later, Mom picked up the kids and at least she's on the ball enough to notice one is missing. She called the cops and met them at the car when they broke into it. I guess hubby was unreachable.

Fortunately, the yuppie kid was in a parking garage so he didn't bake to death in a car. He was only exposed to people like kidnappers while his diaper got crusty and stinky. No problem.

I hope Taylor gets her kids back soon. The donations will certainly allow her to find a place for them to live quickly and help her get back on her feet. "Hot" is relative here, it's estimated the car was around 100F inside, a lot cooler than the average late June day in Phoenix.

This country has become so incredibly UNJUST I can't stand it. The poor are automatically guilty of everything because they are poor. The rich can never be blamed for anything, no matter how many lives they destroy.

What about the guy who raped the 3-year-old? Oh that's right, he can't go to prison, because he wouldn't fare well.

one parent leaves her kids in a car to go to a job interview - gets arrested.
one parent rapes his 3 year old daughter - goes free.

Our justice system is totally messed up.

She left her kids in a hot car in Phoenix, with keys in the ignition.

Even if the weather was not hot, there is the possibility of someone stealing the car. With the keys in the ignition, that car would be gone in half a heartbeat.

Sorry, no sympathy.
