Huckabee: Beginning To Think There Is More Freedom In North Korea Than U.S.

DYLAN SCOTT – APRIL 12, 2014, 6:50 PM EDT

Not content to make just one questionable quote in the last 24 hours, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee decided Saturday to suggest that North Koreans living under an oppressive regime might have more freedom at times than Americans.

According to reporters at the New Hampshire conservative summit where Huckabee spoke, the potential 2016 candidate cited airport security measures by the Transportation Safety Administration as proof.

Huckabee: "I'm beginning to think theres more freedom in North korea sometimes than there is in the United States." Cites TSA patdowns.

“When I go to the airport, I have to get in the surrender position, people put hands all over me, and I have to provide photo ID and a couple of different forms and prove that I really am not going to terrorize the airplane – but if I want to go vote I don’t need a thing," he continued, according to MSNBC.

he'd be willing to go through all that trouble at the airport to reach that bastion of freedom and liberty known as North Korea. C'mon Mike! Buck up! We all know that the really good stuff is worth the sacrifice it takes to get!

I'm sure that when he flys it's economy and he waits in line like all us other poor slobs. NOT. I've flown 3 times since the beginning of February and haven't been patted down once. Maybe it's his attitude that garners so much attention from the TSA.

Have you ever seen his show on Fox? Take a look at the audience. They check you ID and if you are under the age of 65, they won't let you in.

I know we at DU can be counted upon to donate when a DUer is in need an all, but honestly, shouldn't we take up a collection to help move Magic Mike and his Huckster Band to North Korea where it sounds he'd be so much happier?!

There.is.no.comparison.

But, hey, he wants to go to North Korea and Steven Seagal, Rudy Giuliani, and some other assorted right-wingers love them some Vladimir Putin, and some fundies adore the virulently anti-gay regime in Uganda. I say we get the Koch Bros. to chip in a few bucks and send them all off to their respective "utopias" so that they can leave the rest of us alone. Bon voyage!
