The term Easter is an ancient term. Easter time comes from the realization that as the warm east winds return to the planet's land masses, after the cold north winds have killed off plant life, plants return to life. Plants at this time of year are seemingly raised from the dead. And where would we be without plants?

(531 posts)So in honor of 420 Day and Easter I shall make multiple offering of a very specific burning plant, with a very pleasing smoke, to the god(s) or goddess or Bob Marley take your pick and after each offering I will indulge in the bounty of the Easter Basket, despite the meager basket this year I shall do my best to properly celebrate the day.

(13,685 posts)It is only in the Northern Hemisphere that Easter winds apply. Not, as stated in the OP, the entire planet's plants.
