(13,218 posts)It's so ironic and they're so hypocritical.

So I woiuld say, no. What we should do is point out the drastic consequences of a Conservative
Political philosophy.
Conservative, as a political philosophy, has its own definition. It is related lingquisticly to "Conserve" but the two words do not mean the same thing.

(255 posts)As well why they're called conservative. The only thing conservative about them is what they're willing to pay others to work for them. Beyond that it's reckless disregard for everything and everyone. I think today's conservatives are more extremists than conservative. Ayn Rand fanatics would be more fitting.

(14,564 posts)about "conservatism" that made sense at a very superficial level.
But, they have gone in so many half cocked directions over the last 15 years they don't even give pretense to it anymore cause where they are today - in total opposition to Barrack Obama, is somehow in total opposition to where they were 20 years ago except what the power to be really care about - wage suppression and economic class warefare.

(2,962 posts)But, if you called them that, you'd have to explain it to them. I usually call them rightwing squirrely nut job fundamentalists, the simple people of the soil. You know------------morons.

(5,125 posts)Interestingly, after the CEO's, banksters, and sundry other insider 1%er's have taken their share, the return to those who actually provide the working capital (such and the millions of average Americans who have invested their IRA's, 401K's, SEP-IRA's, qualified retirement plans, union and teacher retirement plans, taxable mutual funds, ETC ) has been for the last decade, after adjustment for inflation, close to zero.
So . . . not only do the CEO's, banksters, and sundry other insider 1%er's rip off their customers and their workers, but they simultaneously rip off those who provide the capital for the enterprises they have hijacked.
The REAL capital providers are not the over-compensated CEO's and financial industry gangsters, but the under-compensated investors such as the California Teacher Retirement system, etc.
A system which rewards manipulators and not the savers who provided the capital has no more right to be labeled "capitalism" than right wing destroyers have to be labeled "conservative".

(14,564 posts)They just don't care anymore.
They have done some many half witted, desperate turns that they have contradicted their "principles" so many times they can't even keep up with it.
It has degraded to simple tribal bullshit, and you can call "them" whatever you want, but it won't change their position one fricken bit.
I can't fight it anymore.
REALLY, REALLY good people who I know and like, who are kind and generous and civic minded, all completely immersed in the republican bullshit complaining about Obamacare, about raising the minimum wage, about how hard it to get a mortgage now because THE GOVERNMENT for no good reason in their minds, requires more paperwork to get a loan ...
All things that are good for them, all things THEY need, but ... Because they don't have someone from their team in the White House, fuck it all ...
