So, basically the only way to end discrimination of minorities

in education, opportunity and pay is to amend the constitution?

Seems this is now the only recourse available to fight and end discrimination based on race and sex, in light of the latest SCOTUS ruling.

A mighty high bar has been set, and once again the majority can get away with institutional racism/sexism. The Supreme Court is no longer an avenue to right these wrongs.

What a frickin sad and pathetic day in America. Just one of many though, when it comes to issues like this. The Roberts court has been chipping away at since his arrival.

Or at least a few seem to feel that way, as it appears that 6 senators, including Kennedy (the Swing Vote) and Breyer (usually Liberal) voted in favor of this action.

It appears that this was a state law that was overturned by popular vote, and the justices affirmed that the state had the right to do that. Problematic. Good editorial at the Boston Globe.
