You should check which doctors office or clinics accept whatever insurance that's on your medical card, and yes you should just be able to show it to them and be good to go.

4. I'm guessing you use it like any other insurance plan:not every doc will be on the list of providers

Check the link provided for family docs and specialists in your immediate area who take MediCal patients (we used to do that for Blue Cross, and now Aetna).

Call the office and before you make an appointment, just confirm that they are still taking MediCal patients (just like we do for any new doc, or one we haven't seen in a long time. Sometimes medical providers change affiliations -- my gynecologist stopped taking Blue Cross entirely, so rather than pay my fees upfront I found another.)
