Senate Republicans Shoot Down Minimum Wage Hike

A united Democratic front convinced just one Republican, Bob Corker, to back the measure, and with a vote count of 54-42, it failed to earn the 60 votes necessary to overcome blocking tactics and begin debate on the bill.

I think it was Sen. Cornyn of Texas, had the nerve after the vote to complain that the Democrats had brought this up just to grandstand, when they knew it wasn't going to pass. Mr. Cornyn is apparently totally ignorant of what happens on the other side of the Capitol Building.
