(22,142 posts)intern in his office? I thought he would have a heart attack on air. The vitriol for the Clinton's seethes from him.
This references former Florida Congressman Joe Scarborough. Back in 2001 one of his employees at his hometown office fell, hit her head, and died from the blow. She was ALONE in the office. Scarborough nowhere near. Death was ruled entirely accidental, nothing suspicious. Seems a bit mean that Scarborough, although now anti-Obama commentator on Fox, would have this hung on him like an albatross.
Contrary to the usual news reports, Monica Lewinsky has not been keeping silent for more than a decade. She manages to surface briefly from time to time just to maintain her notoriety for his own profit-making purposes. She even had a cable TV special some years back, where she did a long monologue about how she wanted to be left alone and lost in a crowd but .... This happened to coincide with her attempt to capitalize on her name to sell handbags.
Now that Hillary is in the running, Lewinsky sniffs money and comes out of her hole. Believe me, she will somehow turn this into a money-maker for herself. Contrary to the usual Republican noise, she wasn't some innocent who was somehow preyed upon by Bill Clinton; she threw herself at him, a very strong temptation at a time he was under a lot of stress. To me she's just a homewrecker, although she tries to portray herself as some kind of victim.

(5,644 posts)attach Hillary to Bill's issues in the first place. Most people took pity on Hillary and it probably helped Bill get back into office. IDK.

(12,545 posts)she told a friend she was bringing her presidential knee pads. I don't think she was intending scrub the Oval Office floor.
She needs cash, that's all, and no one watches Morning Jerkoff anyway.

(5,842 posts)A. Legally change her name
B. Change her appearance (just coloring and cutting her hair would likely have been enough).
Monica's protests to the contrary, I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't recognize her unless she went out of her way to draw attention to herself. As you stated, she seems more than willing to pop out of her gopher hole every few years to capitalize on her infamy. While Clinton is hardly blameless in this little escapade it seems that people forget that Monica went out of her way to make sure Clinton noticed her.
While I hope she manages to find whatever she's looking for out of life it would be nice if she started taking more responsibility for her difficulty in being able to live a normal life all these years later.

(3,579 posts)1. Say her death was an accident. Within three hours of Lori's body being found, Scarborough and his spokesman went to two different local TV stations and stated she had a nonexistent history of chronic medical problems.
2. The medical examiner lost his ME license in Missouri and had it suspended in Florida because he lied about his autopsy work. Did he lie again in the case of Lori Klausutis?
It isn't so cut and dry. All America remembers about the summer of 2001 was shark attacks and Gary Condit's affair, and Scarborough's dead intern problem was quietly swept under the rug.

(889 posts)Lewinsky was no victim here. She knew exactly what she was doing. In the back of her mind she saw Bill divorcing Hillary and marrying her.
But please don't give Bill any sort of pass with that "he was under a lot of stress" excuse.
Bill was a full and willing partner. In fact, Bill's fault is much greater, for he was in a position of great authority over Lewinsky. Such relationships are common, of course. But they are, at their core, unethical because one person has so much power over the other.
Having said all that, the real crime here is the GOP's impeachment of Clinton. They attempted to negate the votes of millions of Americans over a private matter.

(31,464 posts)Including the ME's report that there was "nothing suspicious."
It was widely suspected Scarborough was having an affair with the intern. He was also very close to the Bush family, and was reportedly being groomed for a position in the Bush White House. He was personally asked to resign by Jeb Bush because his affair and the dead intern was becoming a distraction to his campaign. To ease the pain, he was instead given a cushy job at MSNBC where he was able to "work" for the Bush family, albeit from the outside. Joe never got his cushy job at the White House and has been very bitter about it ever since. Nobody except Sarah Palin just resigns an office like that for no reason. Especially someone with Joe's ego.

(31,464 posts)Are you suggesting that what I posted means her parents just accepted her death without question? Not at all. There is very little written about her parents. Perhaps they didn't even know of the affair. Perhaps, as is totally understandable for a grieving parent in need of closure, they accepted the ME's report of an accidental fall.
The most basic question is, why did Joe Scarborough resign if this was just an accident? It is pretty unusual for an innocent man to simply run away and pretend nothing ever happened.

(62,444 posts)I wonder why that might be.
So you don't suppose they might be curious about the circumstances of their daughter's death?
Did she have any friends?

(31,464 posts)What is certain is that Joe Scarborough had very, very good -- and powerful -- friends. Can you say "Bush family?" The little guys' voices tend not to be heard.

(62,444 posts)There is no shortage of blogs and internet forums where this subject is discussed.
Why do her friends and family care so little?

(20,805 posts)...office SHOULDN'T be hung around his neck, but the affair between two consenting adults is fair game...
Got it...
There are a million and one things that were highly suspicious about Joe's Dead Intern, but he has the brass to go nuts about Lewinsky....methinks he doth protesteth too much...maybe he's worried that the truth will start to come out if everyone starts sifting through the rubble of that period in history...
Either way fuck that guy.
Twice.

(5,644 posts)when he was calling Bill Clinton, the 'Big Dog', and how Obama should be more like Clinton. The mark of a true republic0n scumbag. Why is it that he has a 15 hour a week show and everybody else has mostly 5 hours a week on MSNBC anyway?
I'm surprised that Joe and his intern thingy in not trending on twitter after his comments. (actually, I don't tweet..just heard the phrase a couple of hundred times )

(5,044 posts)Couple of interesting clauses in the divorce papers -- Susan "acknowledges" Joe was faithful, devoted, and committed." A sentence perhaps intended to quiet allegations Joe was cheating.

Joe goes over the top all the time but I was surprised he was so worked up about the women columnists who did the dredging. At least one person on the panel pointed out that the columnists were balanced.
