Should the Democrats boycott the Select Committee?

This came up in another thread, but I'm curious to know the wisdom of the group.

For me boycotting entirely lets the inmates run the asylum, but participating makes it appear that there's some degree of legitimacy.

Other options?

Edit: Had "Yes" and "No" responses mixed up.

We need our side to question why the right allowed this to happen due to budget cuts.

Perhaps one of the Democratic members of the House (whichever committee cut the funding for embassy security) Committee could give a deposition describing how the funding was cut.

Ds should not waste a year, 100s of hours of 'meetings' and then quit, like Boehner did.
