They claim to be answering the most frequently asked questions.
I'm sure attorneys wrote it. It's pure bs.

For example:
Although the Police Department is the target of the troubling questions, let me
assure you we too feel the pain of this senseless tragedy that has dramatically
affected our community.
Why was George Zimmerman not arrested the night of the shooting?
When the Sanford Police Department arrived at the scene of the incident, Mr.
Zimmerman provided a statement claiming he acted in self defense which at the time
was supported by physical evidence and testimony.
Why was George Zimmerman labeled as squeaky clean when in fact he has
a prior arrest history?
In one of the initial meetings with the father of the victim the investigator related to
him the account that Mr. Zimmerman provided of the incident. At that time the
investigator said that Mr. Zimmerman portrayed himself to be squeaky clean. We
are aware of the background information regarding both individuals involved in this
event. We believe Mr. Martin may have misconstrued this information.

(6,086 posts)a forced annexation of a black town, Goldsboro, that was founded by Black "pioneers". Goldsboro was the second town in Florida founded by Black folks. In 1911, the town was was TAKEN from inhabitants a new charter was composed and the streets, which had been named for the original pioneers that founded the town, were quickly renamed.
Oh, there is a long and storied history of racist issues and curruption that wends it's way through city hall, all the departments and of course, the police department.
And NO, thank God, I am NOT from Florida BUT my paternal grandmother grew up on the reservation in the Everglades, I believe.

(21,043 posts)If anything educational will ever come out of this (ugly as it is), it will be the exposure of racism so publicly and so blatantly that it can't be denied.
The whole country is in shock at what's going on there.

This case stinks, Zimmerman is still free, and the released data and attributed statements are all over the map.
Zimmerman needs to be arrest for at least manslaughter and the data be made public. Its been hidden too long.

(6,086 posts)Since when do you take the word of a criminal, with the dead body of a murdered child and nothing aboutyour "suspect" to confirm his version of events, not to say this:"At that time the investigator said that Mr. Zimmerman portrayed himself to be squeaky clean...REALLY??
So, if any criminal TELLS you he's squeaky clean, you take his word for it? WHAT? This gets crazier by the minute.

(50,996 posts)According to Florida law:
Additionally, when any police officer makes an
arrest for any reason, the officer MUST swear and affirm that he/she is making the
arrest in good faith and with probable cause. If the arrest is done maliciously and in
bad faith, the officer and the City may be held liable.
Yet, a rogue Florida citizen, can shoot teenagers for no frigging reason?

I thought he was wiping his hand, too, but upon closer look, he's adjusting something. Cops do that a lot because those belts are heavy and the equipments rubs them uncomfortably.
