Bill Clinton on Putin: "not dealing with a rational foreign-policy thinker"

Bill Clinton Just Gave A Grave Warning About Putin's Plan For Ukraine

Brett LoGiurato

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of attempting to "re-establish Russian greatness," warning world leaders they are perhaps not dealing with a rational foreign-policy thinker.

"Putin wants to re-establish Russian greatness, not in Cold War terms — in 19th-century-empire terms," Clinton said during a question-and-answer session at the Peter G. Peterson Foundation's annual Fiscal Summit on Wednesday.

<...>

Clinton's and Putin's presidencies did not overlap extensively; however, the pair did meet while both were in office. Putin became Russia's president in 2000, the last year Clinton was in office in the U.S. And former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Bill's wife, led the so-called Russian reset policy in 2009, when Putin was briefly out of power at the start of the Obama administration.

Hillary Clinton said in March that Putin believes his mission is to "restore Russian greatness."

Part of the reason the former Soviet Union is in it's nasty, vicious state is because, after Gorbachev, your admin decided to try and rape Russia for all she was worth.

And Hillary, despite the way your followers keep screaming "Hillary is her own person!", you sure never deviated from Bill on foreign policy.

Clintons, it would be nice if you showed that you got wiser instead of merely older, especially since you are already to move back into your old home.

Lastly to Hillary: if you have any hope of success, you will need to put a muzzle on the big dog; he talked you right into losing 2008, and if he winds up being the backseat driver of a third term, you will wind up being a failure.

"I would like to remind you that this is Novorossiya - the term used back in the tsarist epoch. Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, Odessa were not part of Ukraine in the tsarist epoch. These are the territories which were turned over to Ukraine by the former Soviet government in the 1920s. God knows what they did that for.

All this dates back to the victories won by tsarist Russia in notorious wars in the epoch of Catherine the Great and Prince Potyomkin with the center in Novorossiysk; hence the name- Novorossiya. Then for different reasons these territories were lost, but the people remained."

Vladimir Putin, April 17, 2014.

Non rational politicians. And he did a great job doing it. Our leaders now should listen to what he is saying.

"Our leaders have this bad habit of referring to our foes as crazy. It's not very helpful."

Saying someone is not a "rational thinker" is not the same as calling them "crazy."

Mitt Romney isn't a "rational thinker" on a lot of issues.
