I see comments about attendance, or not. But have no idea what it is, or was.
For those of us who do not read every post on DU - assuming there was one that started it - please, provide explanation(s).
Thank you

(47,476 posts)Interesting that they are trying to compare themselves to the Arab Spring that failed and brought misery and death to million of people from Tunisia to Syria.

(7,784 posts)There are 3 primary phases to the plan:
Phase 1 Field millions, as many as ten million, patriots to assemble in a peaceful, non-violent, physically unarmed
Phase 2 At least one million of the assembled 10 million to stay in D.C. as long as it takes to see Obama, Biden, Reid, McConnell, Boehner, Pelosi, and Attorney General Holder removed from office.
Phase 3 Politicians with the principles of a West; Cruz, Dr. Ben Carson, Lee, DeMint, Paul, Gov Walker, Sessions, Gowdy, Jordan, to comprise a tribunal to convene investigations and recommend appropriate charges against politicians and government employees who have violated the Constitution

(47,476 posts)but all of their supporters do hold, or held, elective offices.

(7,784 posts)gov't at all - they hate the people, laws and policies they don't agree with.
I think right wingers are authoritarians and would have no problem living under a very repressive gov't as long as they agreed with those in power.

(8,646 posts)I think they would be thrilled with a repressive gov't that got rid of everyone who didn't agree with them.

They were hoping to draw between ten million and thirty million people to "occupy" DC, shut down the government and take back their country.

(31,893 posts)That second photo is obviously from some fair or carnival (see the toys in the background on the right) and is completely unrelated to the "American Spring", or Washington D.C., for that matter.

(31,893 posts)of people involved in "American Spring". I thought it was misleading then, too, but didn't have time to post an objection last night.
Thanks for removing it.

(1,363 posts)My nutshell opinion and synopsis of event: Old white people, Rascal and Hoverounds, snaky yellow flags, angry militia types. The second Bestest part was when...about an hour in, someone wanted to sing the National anthem, and started with.."America the Beautiful;'... It was pitiful, kinda like a slow car-semi trailer crash...The BEST part was when Billy-Bob-Cooter-Otter-Joe jumped in front of the camera and said 'WHERE ARE YOU?..." but I would definitely have paid to see this on the big screen, so there's that.

(8,694 posts)I Googled it, won't post a link. They wanted all the teabaggers, racists, militias and other obedient minions of the 1% to gather in the millions in DC to overthrow the government. They want Cruz and Walker and others they selected to put everyone on trial. I have yet to figure out exactly what their reasons are. The site is very confusing. It's like when I have a conversation with a schizophrenic person, it makes my head hurt. They have videos using footage of the Vietnam War, using "Eve of Destruction" and "Where have all the flowers gone", and they don't know these were the anthems of the anti-war movement in the sixties?? They are adapting it to Bundyville??????
They are frozen in adolescence, they think they are rebelling, but so easily manipulated.

(20,317 posts)Twelve weirdos with fifty port-a-potties.
Right-wing gatherings are usually orchestrated from the top-down, with big money interests promoting them in their corporate media outlets and falsely inflating their turnout numbers.
The Tea Party became an embarrassment and a lunatic hindrance to the corporate establishment a few cycles back, and now they're on their own. This is what right-wingers look like when they aren't being propped up by corporate America. This is what they look like when they try to be Occupy Wallstreet.

(29,708 posts)yes furious that Barack Obama would dare be president while being black. Their hatred and fear know no bounds. They are armed and dangerous. When you see one, go the other way.
