I hate clicking on forbes; hate clicking on most mainstream websites anymore.

They take eons to load and never load properly, and I have pretty fast internet.

Their pages are just too clunky, trying to fit too much junk + 2 or 3 commercials or other videos on a page.

Gotta go through an obstacle course just to get the durn story.

Sorry, rant over.......

when I had dialup, forget it.

I guess they get a hit count just by a click on some of these sites, but I can't see most people having the time to wait for them to load enough to get what they clicked for.

I use Opera for my normal browsing - it is a little more secure - and Chrome for problem sites

But still problematic - I caught a pop-over virus via a Firefox (the "preferred" browser for some game companies) "update your Java" message and it infected Ie, Chrome as well as Firefox. Opera wasn't touched.
Firfox and Ie were a nightmare to clear, Chrome was much easier.

I have had the feeling lately that the internet is rapidly becoming useless due to the over abundance of advertising and worthless videos. I have a fast connection and there are times my computer comes close to freezing.

then install some printers ( like HP ) and they want to phone home to corporate every six seconds, and then this program and that program wants an answer to some dire question.

They talk about workers being moochers. The corporations are just mooching off people with an internet connection. Their cookies and adware and popups and constant bugging me feels like I have parasites, mooching worms and lice and other vermin that just become more insidious.

It smells like desperation on the part of corporations, who would do better to spend all that $$$$ on better pay for their workers.

Brother of Charles and David (his twin), Bill Koch won $12 million in punitive damages in April, 2013, from entrepreneur Eric Greenberg, who'd consigned fake bottles of Bordeaux for auction at Zachys. He's also fighting against bizarre allegations his minions at Oxbow Carbon held a former executive prisoner at his Wild West ranch in Colorado; countersuit accuses exec of embezzlement and lying about being kidnapped. Plus he's suing Warren Buffett's Burlington Northern railway for charging monopoly prices to ship his coal. Koch paid $19.5 million for Rachel "Bunny" Mellon's former Cape Cod estate in 2013. He tried to wrest control of Koch Industries in 1980, and was fired. With eldest brother Frederick, he then sold stakes back to brothers for over $700 million in 1983. Feeling shortchanged, he spent 18 years suing for more. He settled after jury awarded them zero in 1998.

Bill Koch is a well-known sailor. He was the organizer and financial backer of a winning America's Cup yacht, then for the following event he was the organizer and financial backer of an all-woman team that did very well in the defense trials.
He is a conservative, but imo not as bad as his brothers. In fact, he sued his brothers for illegally drilling on Indian and Federal land, and won. As part of the court judgement, besides paying a large fine, his brothers were ordered to buy out Bill's shares in Koch Industries.
