Pastafarians rejoice as Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is granted permission to register....

as a religion in Poland.

A church that worships an invisible flying spaghetti monster can now apply to be registered as an official religion in Poland, after a 2013 court ruling was overturned on Tuesday.

A Warsaw court rejected a ruling by the Regional Administrative Court because the it had not allowed the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) a two-month extension for submitting outstanding documents, Polskie Radio has reported.

A group of Pastafarians who gathered outside the court shouting "pasta" during the hearing on Tuesday welcomed the ruling.

In January, Pastafarian minister Christopher Schaeffer was sworn into the Pomfret New York Town Council this week with a colander on his head throughout the ceremony to represent his unique religious beliefs.

A step in the right direction!!

Personally, I'm a member of the Marinara schism.

18. "Pastafarian minister"--would that be a pasta-r?

"Thy Noodle and Thy Sauce, they comfort me, my colander runneth over." Or something like that.....

5. But what about the God-Biscuit?

The Nuclear Platypus Church, under the leadership of Pope Gus, protests this diversion of attention from the All-Knowing God-Biscuit!

9. Don't be stupid. Does God-Biscuit allow garlic and mussels?

As far as I am concerned only the pasta's have the wherewithal to accept any delectable ingredients into their dishes. Admittedly a biscuit with some proscuitto could be accepted into the congregation, but only as a side dish.

I'm looking forward to some of us colander-wearing nuts to be allowed to do the swearing during the opening ceremonies for the town councils/whatevers. I think most of us have very good swearing capabilities and I would guess after a minute or two, so would the rest of the commisses.

19. Maybe, If I Knew What They Are....

Okay, I read through Wikipedia.....

Since the Cult of Demeter is officially defunct, (although in the pattern of the neo-Druids and neo-pagans, there are still practitioners, especially this time of year in the Northern hemisphere, including me)

I am willing to affiliate with the Pastafarians, especially since pasta is made of wheat, Demeter's symbol.

Also, as a Unitarian-Universalist, I find nothing is incompatible.....and as a Pollack, I approve of the kluski!

16. While this I'm sure is all being done to prove a point...

...I'd like to see the opinions of Rastafarians and how they feel about these people playing off of a name they hold dear ("Ras" is a title like "prince" and "Tafari" was Haile Selassie's childhood name).

When some cats in Poland start appropriating the name (and hair? Do these people put cooked spaghetti on their heads too to mock dreadlocks?) of an authentically Afrocentric religion, my spidey-sense starts tingling...

That's a bit messed-up.
