Wife of beheaded man died of blunt force trauma found.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia woman, missing for almost two weeks after her husband's decapitated body was found, died of blunt force trauma, the Putnam County Coroner determined.

Two fisherman discovered the body of Shirley Dermond, 87, near a dam on Lake Oconee on Friday.

Shirley Dermond had been missing since May 5 when the body of her husband, 88-year-old Russell Dermond, was found decapitated in the garage of their home in the Great Waters community at Lake Oconee. His head has not been recovered, said Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills.
