KO's Next Station Will Say "Self Serve"...

I've had the pleasure of meeting KO a long time ago and have enjoyed his work over the years. I, too, have heard many, many stories from his ESPN, Faux and MSNBC days of him being an asshole and difficult to work with. When he started to get ratings at MSNBC he was "insufferable" as one acquaintance told me...management put up with him as he was the person who helped grow the network but he not only pissed off detractors there but some of his biggest supporters. A shame as one of the biggest rules on the broadcast world is no one is irreplaceable at a major network.

I suspect we'll hear a lot more of this situation in the days and weeks to come...and while I'm sorry to see KO off the air again, he blew this thing big time. He had a chance to build and mold a network...few people have that opportunity. Instead it turned into an ego battle and it'll hurt both KO and Current.

While broadcasting is an ego business...there's a limit to where the talent begins and the bullshit ends. KO has reached that bridge too many times and I'd think any future employer would take a long hard look before hiring him. It's sad but there are many highly talented broadcasters this has happened to. As they say in the biz "the beach is full". I suspect it will be a long time before we see KO on a teevee anchor role.
