http://www.relix.com/news/detail/over_20_sun_ra_albums_remastered_for_his_100th_birthday
The Sun Ra Music Archives is celebrating the centennial of the legendary jazz composer/bandleaders birth by reissuing a number of his albums via iTunes. The remastered LPs, which are available today, have been converted to 24-bit audio from the analog master tapes. Additionally, many of the albums contain previously unreleased bonus tracks and each release comes with a downloadable booklet that tells the story behind the album.
Sun Ra was born Herman Poole Blount in Birmingham, AL on May 22, 1914, though he would later maintain that he was born on Saturn. He would go on to become one of the most influential avant-garde composers of the 20th century before his death in 1993.

in music. After listening to a lot of Sun Ra, one begins to think of music in a new and broader sense. He was constantly composing and experimenting. His contributions are very underrated.
