Shinseki resigning will not solve the problems of the Veteran's Hospital. Another

person will face problems and will not be able to fix them in a few years. Politics is the problem with the VA. And as long as everything is a political football vets will continue to face substandard care. Rethugs are already talking loudly about everything except the fact that they voted against increased funding for medical car for vets. Damn!!! What S&*#HEADS! Let "know it all" John McCain do it and see him claim to work miracles. Then all the rethugs will flock to him and make sure everything he does works. In the end, if that would work, the vets will benefit. Right now, all we have are loud mouthed assholes trying to push everything to 2016. Boehner is one of the worst speakers to every chair the house and he has not been dumped. Need I say more? JUST COLLECTING MY THOUGHTS.

from the massive influx of veterans from Bush's wars that is the root of the problem.

maybe they can get the issues addressed sooner.

If anything, this blunder was due to republican unnecessary wars

There have been problems with the VA for decades, since Vietnam! It's always the same issues...how vets get seen, availability of facilities and personnel, and programs that actually help!

Right now, Shinseki is defending the President's flank...once he resigns, Obama will be completely unprotected and the Republicans will go all out to make this his fault...and the media is lending a helping hand by seeming to forget all the no votes that Republicans in Congress have made against funding for programs that were meant to help veterans.

The Republicans have no interest in addressing the issues, they've had many chances and they always say no...why anyone would think that Republicans actually give a s**t about veterans, is beyond me!

before he was born.

My point was what is the quickest way to address the problem instead of spending more months or years scape boating people.

I understand what you are saying, and do not have a problem with it either

There is a fundamental disconnect in the brains, such as they are, in Republicans.

When you send men and women to war there are going to be deaths and injuries. Even for those that are not physically injured many will return with mental problems as a result of their war experience. And there will be those who may not have suffered physical injury or mental but who have been guaranteed health care in compensation for their service.

When you engage in these wars for a decade or more that means more men and women will be subject to these conditions.

That means there will be more and more people using the services of the VA. That means you have to provide sufficient funding and support for the VA than before to account for the additional workload.

I know Obama has increased funding during his terms but it appears that has been insufficient.

Frankly, I think that resignations- unless clearly warranted by specific misconduct- don't solve anything. Calling for resignations might feel good and might make a politician feel like they are "doing something" when they are really doing nothing.
