When a real Tea Partier runs against a Republican who acts like a Tea Partier,

Voters will pick the real Tea Partier in every primary. (But in the general election, the person on the Democratic ticket will win.)

Not all those registered voters are teabaggers, and don't agree with the direction the tealiban wants to take the GOP. Eventually the pendulum swings back.

They have been there for decades. They are concerned on how you fill pot holes mostly, there are so many ways you can do that.

A couple at the local board of supers. They are older than Moses, and while conservative, not tea party. This is a fine distinction, though one might be seen as pre tea party or proto tea party.

Then you have a few others in the Chamber of Commerce. Speaking of Chamber, the national has targeted the Tea Party (which will make this race fascinating, do we support the tea party nut job, or the Obama sympathizer, choices, choices, if you are the chamber...and strong tea is really bad for business)

You cover politics enough, you realize the real loud mouths are not necessarily the dominant forces. That said, they are loud.

The turnout on this one made my county though look we all showed up. And trust me, it was low. So just because the media dies not point to the now few moderate republicans, does not mean they are un existent even in Congress. Endangered breed, yes...but I suspect local government is where you will start to see moderation. I know we are.

I have republican friends who are not and never were teabaggers. The teabaggers are a loud minority. Many republicans weren't paying close attention. Most voters don't follow politics as closely as DUers.

It took republican voters 5 or 6 years to figure out W was an incompetent boob, and Cheney was a dick. Most people don't pay as close attention as we do here.

1) Heavily GOP district.

2) This Brat guy will be a media darling for unseating the House Majority Leader for the first time since 1899. That's a shitload of free publicity.

3) You can bet your ass that handlers on their way right now from Koch-sucker HQ to try to make him seem reasonable.
