Hitler was a populist.

So was FDR.

I have thought, for some years, that we'll soon be moving to a populist government. That is the typical way forward out of the politics of give-the-rich-whatever-they-want-who-cares-how-#%^*ed-everyone-else-is that we stumble into every 80 years or so.

If it's true that Cantor got creamed by a populist revolt, it seems that the time is coming soon when Americans will pick on a grand scale: Fascism or Liberalism. "Sensible-ism" will not be an option.

Our work is cut out for us.

FDR was a liberal. Why would this country change when the uber rich are happy watching the wealthy try and catch up with them?

Hitler relied on the Youth movement to unearth "dissidents".
I'm quite certain the NSA trolling everything we write and speak online and in phone calls is preparation for the fascists to come. The only defense is making sure there are far too many dissidents for them to be able to squash us all at the same time, and for those recognizing that some are being squashed to publicize the facts as loudly and forcefully as they can.
