(420 posts)they're the ones that brought forth stupid laws such as Stand Your Ground Law, or the stupid education bills that screws the teachers more.
I am a product of a well-oiled union-supported public school system, and I know what they had to do to get there.

(27,985 posts)Though, for the first time in almost 10 years, I'm barely here at all. I'm getting the opportunity to redo my 12 step work (yay, me!) and I find that I've lost interest in the skirmishing that happens over here and of which I was always such an active participant. One day, I hope to find a way to be here and not have it be detrimental to my program.
I know I'm going to be in the streets this spring for Occupy. I'm medically trained and they can always use another medic.

(30 posts)I am a person who remembers not being able to vote for gore. I watched as bush destroyed the country I was taught existed, then I voted for Obama's promise of change, and became more disillusioned when he continued so many of the programs.
I despise obfuscation by any politician, and demand transparency that is never attained. I advocate voraciously for president Obama to either start the prosecution or pardoning of the bush administration officials who have revealed publicly that they took part in the authorization or the war crimes.
I am a registered republican, gun owner, atheist, who supported Ron Paul in the Iowa primary, knowing that he was the only reasonable candidate who would force the discussion of actual issues, not frothy and his birth control, or look how awkwardly Mormon mitt is. (I am too much of a socialist to agree with his views on SS and medicare, but the libertarian in me thinks auditing the fed on a regular basis and ending the police state drug war / war on terror are all great ideas)
I will be soon a volunteer for the Obama reelection, and working to see as many progressives get elected as possible. "Do I contradict myself, very well then I contradict myself, I am the measure of all things." W.W.

(30 posts)Michelle bachmans poll numbers. I always tell the poll calls I get that I want to hear Michelle Bachman talk about social issues... Not gonna take all the credit, but it was a lot of good comedy to me at least, to hear the pundits tell me about her poll numbers then hear her rant about gay marriage, then act confused when it never worked but made them all sound like idiots... Yeah.

(115,677 posts)She makes mention of several of her known incarnations here and on DU2. It is a rather odd hobby she has, signing up, being banned, over and over and over and over. And most of her posts are meant primarily to disrupt, are disruptive.

(2,760 posts)I'm a little new here, because all through the horrible "W" years I was out of the country and had only limited computer access, so I didn't discover DU until just before the dismal 2010 elections.
Why do I live in Thailand? Because I can't afford to live in my own country and still have a good life. Here I can pay rent, eat and still have dental and medical that I can afford. What a luxury. I'm a member of Democrats Abroad and we expats are dedicated progressives. Thank you DU for being here for me.

(1,241 posts)Yes my feet hurt, neuropathy. I'm a Vet and retired from IUPAT painters union. I live in Montana and there are plenty of right wing conservatives that scare the shit out of me here. I'm an activist for medical marijuana and Liberal Democrat. I have learned a lot from many people here on DU, this is a good place to be. It helps keep me sane.
