Oh, dear gawd. I've finally figured out what Santorum

is trying to do when he speaks in that breathy - or is it out of breath - voice he uses half the time when he's trying to sound smart.

He is trying to copy President Obama. He's trying to do that hint of Martin Luther/preacher's voice Obama practically sings during a motivational speech, he does it so well.

Oh dear gawd. That is exactly what he is doing.

And here I thought he was having intestinal issues all this time - holding back a bout of diarrhea or something.

He knows he can't win. He wants to have some influence at the convention. I think he wants to be the force behind the party platform. Maybe he also wants to speak before the convention during prime time. I hope that's so. He has the potential to be this year's Pat Buchanan,
