(6,440 posts)I know you need to be on the conservative wing of the Dem party to get elected in a state like SC, but this once again raises the question of how far to the right you can go and still call yourself a Democrat.

(53,475 posts)First, no question that right-wingers have infiltrated the Democratic Party. We need to do a much better job of vetting candidates at the local level.
Second, I know of one Dem who joined ALEC as a means of keeping an eye on them and knowing what they're up to. I understand he's been "outed" and had his ALEC web services revoked.
Thanks for keeping an eye on ALEC, and on our Democratic representatives.

(52,589 posts)We cannot rely on ballots alone. Protest, organizing, and civil disobedience is a must at this period of history no matter how some feel "put off" by it and feel it can be done by ballot alone.
