Rex Babin: a cartoonist we'll miss.

More at: http://www.sacbee.com/2012/03/30/4379573/rex-babins-favorite-cartoons.html

From J. D. Crowe, cartoonist at the Mobile Register:
"This should have been a tribute to my colleague who won a Pulitzer, not my friend who died too soon.
A few rambling thoughts about Rex Babin:

Rex is one of my very best friends and also one of my very favorite artists. His work had impact.
Rex was passionate about our profession. Any time I needed a pep talk, seems like Rex was on the phone. We couldn't have a conversation about anything - art, politics, sports - without it coming back to how artists and journalists - cartoonists - have a responsibility to serve our readers and impact our community.

At the conventions, nobody was more eager to help young cartoonists than Rex. His passion was contagious. His critiques were thorough, tough and illuminating. Rex made our profession better."
