My first political action since my brain surgery.I will be serving in a district that is 99% Republican.I will need some friendly DUers to fall back on for reassurance/answers as election day in Texas nears.
(For the record,Texas has very few Democratic candidates in my district-it'll just be good experience)

(23,278 posts)The fact that they'll have a GLBT,Feminist,Pro-choice,Universal Healthcare election judge(not an unknown fact here)...will be,let's say,unique.

(23,278 posts)and if they do,They will vote in the Republican primary,as that is where all the controversy is in this district.
I'll just sit there,smile sweetly and make prayer beads,like the last time.
This will be our first computerized voting system,so I'm expecting screw ups.We'll see.

(82,849 posts)Me? I'd wrestle with the temptation (and lose, badly) to tell the more knuckle-headed voters that if they have problems with the computerized voting machine, they can always come back and try again tomorrow.
