George Carlin On What Should Be Done With Churches

I don’t know how you feel, but I’m pretty sick of church people. You know what they ought to do with churches? Tax them! If holy people are so concerned with politics, government and public policy, let them pay the price of admission like everyone else. The Catholic Church alone could wipe out the national debt if all you did was tax their real estate.

One who always told it like it really is. Gads, I miss him, and Frank Zappa too.

I've been playing "Broadway The Hard Way" a lot and while I was 8 years old when it was recorded - it doesn't seem like a whole lot has changed since then - the same group of assholes Zappa ranted about back then are still in charge and refuse to give up their power. Same shit different year I guess.

but tax free status is going to far."

I love it! I see a lot of truth in that statement, and I have been saying this for years---tax the churches. I see absolutely no reason for an exemption...and that was before all the most blatant political standings from the churches.
