Bernis Sanders on Hobby Lobby: 'Bosses shouldn't be able to impose religious beliefs on employees'

____ Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders, who joined a group of senators in filing a friend-of-the-court brief in the case arguing that religious freedom does not extend to for-profit companies, decried the decision.

“Bosses should not be able to impose their religious beliefs on their employees. This ruling is another attack on the rights of working people by the 5-4 conservative majority on the Supreme Court,” Sanders said in a statement.

“At a time when tens of millions of women use birth control, there is no valid reason to restrict a woman’s access to safe, widely used preventive services simply because her employer does not approve of what should be her private medical decisions. This ruling undermines the government’s interest in providing women access to preventive health care, including contraceptive coverage,” he said.

What's the excuse for the rest of them? Cowardice? Good for Baucus for being on there. I hate the dude otherwise but at least he's putting his name to this one.

I'm surprised not to see Warren or Whitehouse there and yes, good on Baucus.

There should not be any nationally elected democrat in congress or the executive branch for that matter who doesn't sign that.
