Plus the *usual* multipoint elk bulls, bison, pronghorn antelope!
Absolutely magical place in the early hours of the day before the crowds arrive.

(14,195 posts)That cat was grace epitomized! Just watching its fluid movements.... Wow.
Totally unexpected gift, the park has exceeded expectations every day. Especially once we learned to arrive shortly after sunrise to beat the crowds!

(4,440 posts)I saw a big Griz on the shore of Yellowstone Lake a few years ago. Took my little grandson with me on that trip, he loved watching the bison block traffic on the road.

(14,195 posts)Chris took a photo of me at lunch that day, and I was clearly pale... But we had to get to our next hotel so we rode. The constant headache took a toll tho, I think without it we would have continued beyong kansas....

(40,168 posts)zero traffic except when bison blocked the road, watched as a grizzly meandered through a scenic overlook parking area like it owned the place. Yes, the mud pots were awesome.
Probably the best NP we've ever been to (so far), and that includes the Grand Canyon.
