If you were making a blacklist of Democratic consultants who should never be allowed near another Democratic campaign again, who would you put on that list?
I'll start:
Mary Beth Cahill
Bob Shrum
Tad Devine
Chris Lehane
Susan Estrich

Between his built-in conflict of interest and his efforts to kneecap the fifty-state strategy because it cuts into his fees, why should he be entrusted with another Dem dime?

(15,185 posts)Those two should never go near another Democratic campaign ever again. With Penn, who knows maybe he'll go the other way. He struck me as the biggest tool.
BTW, didn't Cadel become a republican? He's on Fox now I think. I don't think Lehane is as big a loser as you think. This guy fights. The party needs more like him. He's been credited for making Bush's DWI history public before the '00 election. The reality is sometimes good people get stuck in poorly run campaigns. And sometimes it isn't their fault - often times the candidates themselves just don't do a good job selling themselves or their opposition just faces an incredibly docile media (Bush in '00 is a great example).
Add Donna Brazile to that list. I just cannot stand that woman. Always making excuses for her good friends Condi and Bush. Blech.

with the others i think they really did want their candidate to win and did what they think would help.

His roles as chief political strategist and PR agency CEO collided disastrously when he ran Hillary's 2008 campaign:

He "asked" to be demoted to a mere pollster for Hillary, then blamed everyone except him afterwards:

Penn has been doing strategic planning for Microsoft since 2012. May he be out of the political sphere permanently.
