Post mortem from Crooks & Liars

"Update: In case you're confused about the ramifications of the majority's order, here is a short summary:

The court just opened the door for any organization to duck the filing requirement that would allow the government to step in and offer birth control to their employees. Therefore, hundreds or thousands of organizations will now claim a religious exemption without filing, leaving their employees without coverage for contraception."

But, but Alito said this was a narrow decision?

"Pairing" hmmmm. Verrrrry interesting - had not seen that thread before. I live in L.A. and my Congressman (Xavier Becerra) is very good and safe, so will help out with Dave Peiser's campaign who's running against Issa down San Diego way.

Thank you for posting that thread. Moving parts - I love it!

and you're right - Issa is a national embarrassment. I encourage everyone who lives too far away or has unreliable transportation to get on Peiser's e-mail list. Of course, what he needs most is donations so he can put up some blistering ads.

It is going to take a sustained effort to keep the presidency and the senate in Democratic hands to reverse this. That has to be in place, and one of the fascist five has to die or step down (probably the former). I'll bet if we get another repub in office Kennedy steps down fast so a young hard-core replacement can be made.

had 2 kids each. When we discussed birth control, I remember their preferred method: separate bedrooms! Childbirth was no picnic in those days, either. My uncle's birth caused a broken tailbone in my grandmother.
