I Am Not Looking Forward To The Hate

I am not looking forward to this election cycle. We are probably going to see the most hate and bigotry that we have ever seen coming from the GOP and their allies since the Civil War. There will be no limit. Look at what is going on now and we haven't even gotten to the nominations yet.

When you look at Romney and listen to his speeches he has a crazed hateful look in his eyes. He has smoke coming ou of his ears and fire coming out of his nostrils. He looks murderous. So we will be hearing the full force of his viciousness for a long time. And the rest of the GOP will be even worse. They will be demonizing Democrats and and anyoe who does not support them 24/7. It will be a war of words so over the top.

The GOP plans to force the Ryan budget anyway they can. And they will lie about everything.

This election will likely fracture our nation for years to come.

The insane hatred will have been foamed up to such a pitch that who knows what the climate of the next 4 years will be? We may be in for a pretty rocky period. It may be the fourth turning coming back with a vengeance.

Of course if by some off chance Rumney wins, the imbecile brigade will cheer as they watch the country disappear down some deep, dark sewer system designed by our conservative compatriots..

I don't think Romney has any impetus or fire in his belly to be vitriolic. He's not Palin capable. If the hate is coming, it will be from the usual outlets, Hannity, Breibart and Beck... and then Romney wil; try to bring their talking points to his campaign. His ads will be negative and contradictory and romney doesn't have the wherewithal to defend them with the passion of say a Gingrich or Santorum.

Don't underestimate the ineptness of Romney once he is in the spotlight. He will dig his own grave and pointing the finger through the hatred glass for him, I think will create more problems than he will be able to handle.

It amazes me to see how many people don't see this as an option.

Don't get me wrong. I totally agree. The repub/bagger/fundie/citizens united campaign will be about nothing but negative attack ads and Obama hatred.

Too many people see themselves as helpless against it. I think that this is a remnant of the bad old post 9/11 days when we were told that if we were Domocrats or if we disagreed with george w moron on ANYTHING, we were traitors and we needed to shut up.A lot of liberals (but never my wife and I) were trained into being very docile then. It used to amaze me how shocked a rightist would be when I didn't automatically shut up because they snarled.

As long as we have mouths, we AREN'T helpless and we DON'T have to let happen!

PEACE!

That was early on too. Just days after 9/11 when I started worrying that the Bush Administration would react to it by taking us to war rather than using international laws to hunt the terrorists down. I remember Cheney being worried about the opposite reaction from the Liberals. He sneered that the Democrats would just use the courts to get the terrorists.

I'm so glad I don't have to re-live the first decade of the 21st Century again. It was like getting stuck in a nightmare and not being able to wake up.

Of course, he sneered about everything.

What gauls me is that the right NEVER changes their talking points. I was invited to leave the country because I expressed my opposition to the Vietnam was in 1967. I was almost 12 at the time, so a perfect target for right wingers.

PEACE!

Most assuredly, if he wins reelection, they will evolve into a new phase of lunacy.

Heck, people forget how edgy these people were in 2009 - these dipshits running around in public evens with handguns strapped to their sides, lots of Ds having their offices defamed, lots of Ds getting threatening calls. Even poor Eric Cantor was a victim to a bullet shot in the sky hitting the window of the consulting firm for his campaign (tongue in cheek).

I think the house, presumably still in R hands even with some D gains, will not be able to help itself, and will go Clinton on BO - just investigate the living crape out of the administration until it finds what it thinks it has traction on, then try to impeach him.

And, like in the 90s, the right wing fringe groups will run hotter and do more crape.

Just the cycle - they get their R president and they are placated, a D president, and it is like trying to discipline you 5 year old.

25. This is what elections always look like to many of us....
Thu Apr 5, 2012, 10:21 AM
Apr 2012

Those of us the two Parties treat as a wedge are sort of used to it. Last cycle, 'our side' put on rallies with 'ex gay ministers' and others who slandered us, and our candidate defended their words and their employment of such people, told us to sit down and act like we like it or we could get lost. After we won, the President Elect picked Rick Warren for honors days after Warren had equated all gay relationships to pedophilia and incest.

The one debate, Joe against Palin, the two agreed on one thing. That gay people should not get equal rights due to their religions. So while the DNC thought Palin was foolish and full of shit, on that point Joe just shouted out his agreement with her. Think that through. Election season makes me sick, as it is open season on gay people, always, from either Party. God is in the mix, Sanctity, Sacraments, you know the drill. I find it shocking that the majority did not see that then, and that you guys think this is 'new' the intense slandering and lies. It is not new, and it is not only 'their side' that engages in it. It's just one song, after all, just one little prayer....

Oh sure, it's not too bad these days (and no, we're not talking about the "occasional well-thought out argument against a policy decision&quot but for a while there...I often wondered if I was at the wrong site.

For instance pick an issue, any issue, fist we hear calls for Obama to make use of the bully pulpit! Oh yes, the bully pulpit has magical powers, everyone knows that! He needs to use it!1! Ok, so he takes to the bully pulpit and what do we hear? "A pretty speech!1!" lolz

No matter what he did, he was wrong. It got pretty blatant for a time there with the pure GOP tactics. If you ask me it was pretty good practice run of some of what we're in for in the coming months.

When Obama gets reelected, he definitely needs to get serious and stop letting the GOP ruin our nation.
