BERLIN—Fresh allegations of U.S. spying on Germany emerged on Friday after police arrested a German man on suspicion of working as a foreign agent and the German Foreign Ministry summoned the U.S. ambassador about the incident.

The man, a low-ranking employee of the German foreign intelligence agency, allegedly had been selling secret documents to U.S. intelligence, according to German news reports. The documents were reported to include information about a continuing German parliamentary inquiry into U.S. electronic spying.

A Foreign Ministry official urged John B. Emerson, the U.S. ambassador to Germany, to help clear up the matter quickly, a Foreign Ministry statement said.

can't read the full story at the link, without agreement to subscribe.

the second paragraph excerpted here, seems to be incomplete to my reading of it. I'm trying to figure the relevance of the photo of snowden on a journalists computer has to do with the spy allegations of the
U.S. "Ambassador" (state dept spy).

A bit confusing.. was that meant to be just an "aside" to the story or is it directly relevant to evidence? Maybe I'm being dense in my reading comprehension.. ? Is there some sort of direct connection to Snowden or is it just some WSJ side swipe smear on him.. lame attempt to implicate Snowden somehow?
