GOP Rep. Bill Cassidy's idea of a good father is a father who promotes abstinence only. In fact, Rep. Bill Cassidy co-sponsored the abstinence only bill in the US Congress which is titled "Abstinence Education Reallocation Act of 2013" ... hmmm ...

It appears that teaching "abstinence only" in his home failed as GOP Rep. Cassidy's daughter is an unwed, pregnant teen going into her senior year of high school. GOP Rep. Bill Cassidy also supported Roy Blunt's 2012 "moral conviction" legislation.
Recall, Roy Blunt's 2012 "moral conviction" legislation exempted employers from providing any health coverage that went against their "religious beliefs or moral convictions." That meant, Blunt's 2012 "moral conviction" legislation exempted all employers who had a "moral" objection from: providing birth control coverage, allow bigots to claim a moral objection to providing health coverage for minorities; employers with "moral" disdain for single mothers could deny them maternity coverage; Scientologists could deny coverage for mental health care; and over 20 million women receiving coverage for preventive services would have lost that coverage.

to raise another man's child is to lose the evolutionary lottery. to fail at passing on that dna packet.
the rewards for success are large. male involvement was a huge leap for the species.
you may think you have a mind of your own, but it has a mind of IT'S own. and for most human animals, that mind has only one goal, passing on that dna.

Look at the map of his district. Looks TOTALLY gerry-mandered the way it skeedaddles around every which-a-way. It looks like a map of Italy and coastal Greece drawn by either a three-year-old or a drunk. But instead of where the Mediterranean Sea is, around the boot of Italy and the Grecian west coast, there's just more land instead of water. Hmmm... wonder who THEY were trying to cut around, to get that weird misshapen jurisdiction...

This young woman will be alright, it is only poor kids who are "sluts" Girls with affluent parents just "make mistakes"

And will be shamed publicly for doing exactly what the pro-lifers demand that she do and I am sure shamed by her whacko family every day she raises the child. It's gross on so many levels.

There is something worse than being a forced mother...and that is being a forced birth mother.
I agree that she should have been given access to sex education and contraception and I agree that she should have been given the option of abortion.

They talk about minorities having too many abortions but I bet none of them want to adopt a baby with black or brown skin. They don't care about Chinese abortions. They are selfish, deluded people who only want to force their agenda on everyone else. It's a cult mentality and they need to be stopped now.

These hypocrites running around telling other people what to do, while they lie to themselves, should just shut up and go away. Yet somehow they get elected?
His poor daughter is now made a subject on the www because of him and his mouth. He has failed her twice. She should get as far away from him as she possibly can. He is abusive; probably even a physical abuser.

(135,425 posts)He is the rich granddaddy, who can provide for his grandchild, while denying the grandchildren of those less fortunate than his daughter access to social programs to assist them while they acquire the skills to provide for themselves.
In sum, his future grandchild is "privileged." The future grandparents of the offspring of poorer single teens can, to quote Dick Cheney, go fuck themselves!
I will say, that "Abstinence Only" stance is a great thing to roll up and beat him over the head with! I hope it happens EARLY AND OFTEN.
I wonder if she knows WHO the father is, and which race he is? Would be poetic justice if the father is one of three being tested for their DNA on Maury!! Poor girls are the ones who need to practice abstinence, since the rest of them can have their bills paid by their parents. Sarah Palin has several grandkids by her eldest daughters, neither of whom are married.

(9,350 posts)I know how babies are made. My point is how did the unwed daugther of an abstinence only Republican get pregnant outside of marriage? Did her parents talk to her about sex? Did they encourage her not to have sex until she was married? Did her parents know she was having sex?
