General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI frankly thinks there's little doubt that Obama will win
the election. But you can be sure that after all the hype and bluster over the Republican nomination, the news stationsincluding MSNBCwill do their utmost to make the general election as dramatic as possible.
To my mind, it'll be something akin to The Amazing Race, which plays thunderous, urgent, suspense-filled music as the contestants are standing in line to buy airline tickets. Much ado about nothing.
You'll see poll numbers parsed, you'll see every negative word discussed and debated as if the general is a sports event that can't be missed or we may see the end of the world.
There will be people here on DU who go into freak-out mode at every opportunity. But rest assured that no matter what kind of over-the-top hype we hear or see on TV and the web, none of it means anything but getting ratings and clicks.
Barring a major campaign gaff, Obama is set for another term.
