Rolling Coal: Conservatives ‘screw’ Obama by modifying trucks to spew toxic black smoke

Conservatives who detest President Barack Obama and EPA clean air regulations are modifying their vehicles to purposefully spew black smoke into the atmosphere.

So-called “coal rollers” install smoke stacks and special equipment in their diesel trucks that makes the engine think that it needs more fuel, resulting in plumes of black smoke. In June, Vocativ reported on the trend of “coal rollers” using their toxic exhaust as revenge against “nature nuffies” who drive environmentally friendly cars, like the Toyota Prius.

“The feeling around here is that everyone who drives a small car is a liberal,” a South Carolina truck owner named Ryan explained. “I rolled coal on a Prius once just because they were tailing me.”

“It’s bad for the environment. That’s definitely true,” he admitted. “And some of the kids that have diesel trucks can look like tools. And you can cause a wreck, but everything else about it is pretty good.” The Clean Air Task Force estimates that pollutants from diesel vehicles “lead to 21,000 premature deaths each year and create a cancer risk that is seven times greater than the combined risk of all 181 other air toxics tracked by the EPA.”

Watch the video below of a 2013 coal rollin’ rally in Wisconsin.

I can state with positive certainty that many people on DU, for instance, would be absolutely HORRIFIED by a pair of giant swinging plastic testicles on the back of a flatbed, they're cheaper and you won't need a car wash after!

Honest, guys. Just stick with the truck nutz. Better for everyone, and you're still guaranteed to make some of those pesky "libruls" lose their shit.

Vocativ piece simply highlights how bad it was in the first place. Very few hard facts, two people identified only by their first names when there's no reason to protect their identify, and quotes that sound made up.

When the Vocativ piece ran, "nature nuffies" got exactly two google results: the Vocative article and an aggregator. "Nature nuffy" got exactly one.

Once that article hit and everyone wanted in on it, I'm getting the feeling that a lot of these guys say they do it because they hate Obama just to watch progressives go to pieces.

Acting like petulant 8 year olds. This is what we're up against. Fuck up the sandbox, because you don't like the black family down the block...

You said it has been posted 4 times already. Golly gee, I would not want to repost anything, and I just don't have the time to sit here in DU all day, especially since I have adults to feed here, and tend to, and 3 dogs, and 2 radio shows... so please tell me how to avoid it. Leave out no details, I'm old and fragile. In advance, I thank you!

Before I post a story starting a thread, I do a quick scan of the first couple pages of GD and LBN to see if its already been posted. It only takes half a minute, and its courteous to avoid duplicate threads when possible.

http://www.arb.ca.gov/enf/complaints/smoke.htm

"CELL PHONE USERS may now dial #SMOG to report smoking vehicles in greater California but this service is not available in all areas. Your call will automatically be routed to the proper air quality agency. This service is provided by your cellular phone carrier, your local air pollution control district, and the ARB"

Or you can fill out the online form and the vehicle's owner will revive a "courtesy letter" which basically says "fix it or else" and you WILL be required to pass a smog inspection before your next registration.
