And yes, there are many other religions much, much worse than the Anglicans, who I rather like. (Mostly, at least.)

(6,852 posts)So excited to have started a debate about English history on this page! Yes, I know Henry VIII is widely considered the founder of the Church of England in the 16th century -- however, the roots of the church go back to the sixth. In either case -- whether you consider the church four centuries old or fourteen centuries old -- it is still more modern than Scalia.
