Republican sexual dysfunction

The GOP’s war on contraception, abortion, women, and LGBTs is really all about sexual intercourse. All flavors of Republicans, from teabaggers, to fundamentalists, to so-called moderates have a really big problem with the idea of sex. Many of them seem to believe that people should be punished for having unmarried sex. And many believe that any sex other than the missionary position is strictly taboo and only practiced by “perverts.” Today’s Republicans are Puritans whom the journalist H.L. Mencken described as those with “the haunting fear that someone, somewhere is having a good time.” They long for the 1950s when (supposedly) everyone was a virgin until they got married.

Now back here in the real world, we know that most Republicans don’t really give a rat’s ass about who’s in bed with whom. And as has so often been reported in the news, they themselves are pretty busy screwing anything that moves. But it makes for a great political issue to feed to the yahoos, (many of whom are also hypocrites on the issue).

But here’s the thing. Their political issue causes real damage to real human beings. (This can be said about virtually every political position held by today’s GOP.) What if they had the power to pass their ideology into laws? Actually some states had anti-sodomy laws, some of which are still on the books today. Imagine a world in which the party who wants to “get the government off our backs” is busy enforcing what you can and can’t do with someone else.

Virtually every dictatorship that has ever existed has had stringent laws regarding sex among the peasants. In many countries today, you can be put to death for doing the "wrong" thing with the "wrong" person. But the rulers, of course, are entitled to their vast pleasure palaces. That’s a world only a Republican could love. And it’s the world they have planned for us if they ever get full power.

of Mississippi reminisced about "doing indecent things with animals,"* yet not one self-righteous Republican said a word about it. I guess it's okay if you're not having sex with a woman who isn't your wife.

Republicans have really raised hypocrisy to an art form.

You married a virgin, but slept around with "those" types of girls. Then if it became known she was easy or she got pregnant, society blamed her, just like Hester Prine in the Scarlett Letter. It was THEIR shame alone.

Golly, those were swell times!

Impeaching Clinton over a bj was so over the top as to be insane. But justice prevailed. The party in the White House usually loses seats during midterm elections, but in 1998, Republicans lost seats in both the House and Senate.

Today, Obama' White House is almost praying for an impeachment attempt on some phony grounds. It will wreck the Republicans in this years elections and for years to come.

It's a right-wing Christian attitude, and since Republicans pander to the Christian right, of course they adopt it.

And sexual repression is also present in other Abrahamic religions.

and he was still effective at his job on policy issues.

The GOP side is full of perverts and weirdos who try to repress their sexuality with disastrous results.

Colonial rulers throughout various lands had nothing better to do than enjoy orgies and depraved sexual escapades while imposing very strict marriage laws on their subjects.

The desire to control someone else's life is often the cause of many a conflict.
