3. Both sides initially claimed it

Now that they know it was a civilian jet and that 295 people were murdered, both sides are denying it.

Funny how that works.

"Terrorists" generally don't have access to the sophisticated missiles it takes to knock a jetliner at altitude out of the sky.

It was one government or the other.

4. No, both sides did not claim it. Only the terrorists did.

The Ukraine government doesn't shoot at planes there, because it owns all of the military aircraft there. And it certainly never claimed it shot that plane down.

And the terrorists were known to be in possession of the Buk missiles that could have knocked that plane down.

The US slapped sanctions on Putin because he was funneling weapons to the terrorists.

7. It was on the BBC early today

The story was updated five hours ago to say all sides denied it.

There is a pretty good series of videos at http://www.bbc.com/news/world-28354787

One thing I think we can say for certain is that if it was the rebels, they were supplied by China, the US or Russia. It was that sophisticated. Shoulder mounted RPGs wouldn't hit a plane at altitude.

Not once is there any indication that the Ukraine initially claimed credit. You should correct your post.

Ukraine has steadfastly denied they had anything to do with the missile attack, and the pro Russian rebels have claimed responsibility for it when they thought they shot down a AN-26 military transport plane.

Why the fuck would Ukraine claim downing of a jet or airliner? The rebels don't have them. And they damn sure wouldn't shoot down a Russian plane (which have made incursions dozens of times into Ukraine over the months).

Peace for them.
