Zienna Peterson didn’t succeed with the grilled chicken salad and homemade dressing, so she tried again.

This time, her “Terrific Turkey Tacos” earned her a seat at Friday’s White House Kids’ State Dinner.

Ten-year-old Zienna, Nebraska’s representative, along with 53 other kids from the 50 states, District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, will attend the dinner in Washington, D.C., hosted by first lady Michelle Obama.

When the soon-to-be fifth-grader at J. Sterling Morton Elementary found out, she couldn’t stop smiling and was “really happy and excited,” she said.

Terrific Turkey Tacos
One pound of ground turkey
Whole wheat tortilla (heated, if you prefer)
Spinach and romaine lettuce
Low-fat cheese
Diced avocados and tomatoes
Side of fruit
Seasoning for turkey:
2 teaspoons chili powder
1½ teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon oregano
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of cayenne pepper
¾ cup water
