Michigan Is The Model For The Rest Of The States And Congress

Michigan is the model for the rest of the country. The Democrats always seem to want bipartisanship but they forget that they were essentially locked out of the Capitol when the GOP was in charge. They were meeting in the parking lot. The GOP plan for Congress will be to tell Democrats not even to show up. Their votes will be ignore. The Senate leader and House Speaker will run it like Michigan.

Just to add to your OP, here is the link to Rachel Maddow's excellent report on the unconstitutional actions of the repub Congress:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/ns/msnbc_tv-rachel_maddow_show/#46973330

Definitely a MUST SEE video, imo.

Definitely a MUST SEE video!

This could create a constitutional crisis. Can the Justice Dept or any other federal agency do anything...since it is legislative branch of government? Nothing like this has ever happened in our history, where the legislative branch of the government has gone rogue. What would be the check and balance?

you will find that the Michigan courts have already issued an injunction, and that the Michigan assembly has rejected it on the grounds of separation of powers.

This is a constitutional crisis, no "could" about it.

For those of us who live in Michigan--we keep telling you and telling you, beware. Michigan should be the bellringer for citizens throughout the country.

Guess you'll have to see it to believe it when this crap hits your state.

Where or by whom a legal case can/should be made and when it will occur. If anything that is as big an issue as the Fascist Emergency Manager law.

Could it be the subject is too complicated to produce the necessary outrage? It never ceases to amaze me how so many important subjects get virtually ignored at DU, while the latest horror story produces hundreds of replies.

I guess it's a corollary of "If it bleeds, it leads," to whit: "If it don't bleed, there's no need."

After all the bellyaching about the 2000 election, you'd think more people would express outrage. Well, they will do this elsewhere, no doubt about it.

I have been scared every day since the GOP has taken power. I have written to my Representatives, both GOP, until they began writing me personal responses. They say they are trying to "save" Michigan. I will tell you, I feel like we have been taken over by the mob, or a gang and there is nothing we can do. Being a teacher my retirement is on the line, I may be forced to resign this year or face losing my benefits, and there is nothing we seem to be able to do to stop them. I believe with all my heart that this group is in Michigan to destroy it and take everything they can get from it and then they will leave us with nothing. I am very concerned for my State. When you breath a sign of relief every time they recess for a vacation you know it is dangerous.

The more time congress is on vacation, the better. I really hope the Dems can win the House and Supreme Court in the fall. This nonsense has to stop.
