The mitigating factor is the airliner had no business

venturing into prohibited airspace. You come into my yard where I have serious signs on the perimeter, my dogs won't care that you were misdirected by a bad guy into my protected space. I agree with your last statement, though, but not simply for the downing of this airplane. A bunch of calamities are pointing toward war. The bankers have probably already decided.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1014&pid=850394

Frame of reference....If the "victims"

knowingly and wantonly entered prohibited air space (a war zone), they are at least partly responsible for their fate. I'll leave the cute icons to you.

You found one person, who doesn't really post on DU anymore AFAIK, by finding tweets. Not even DU posts. And the tweets that I saw don't defend Putin so much as call out the bad stuff being done by the westerners.

Do I have that right?

Then you found a low-count poster that's on a time out, and another low-count poster.

On a site with thousands of participants, this doesn't exactly sound like an epidemic. It doesn't even sound like a flea fart. More like a tardigrade burp.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=5264410

Perhaps your time would be better spent reading up on early 20th century German history instead of cataloging the tweets of inactive DUers, and hectoring me with silliness.

Jul 2014

On Sat Jul 19, 2014, 12:03 PM you sent an alert on the following post:

Frame of reference....If the "victims"
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1014&pid=850394

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

YOUR COMMENTS

Utterly repulsive. Trying to blame the victims of a war crime for flying in airspace where it was perfectly legal to fly, in order to deflect blame from Putin (he's peddling conspiracy woo further down). Not only should comment be hidden for being a malicious, horrific lie, but poster should be on thin ice as a likely troll.

JURY RESULTS

A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of this alert at Sat Jul 19, 2014, 12:20 PM, and voted 4-3 to HIDE IT.

Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: "knowingly and wantonly"...really? Disgusting.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Stupid alert. The alerter should do some research since there were NOTAMS (Notice to airmen) send out saying to avoid the area and US carriers were specifically told not to fly over that area.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Wtf!
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Ludicrous, victim-blaming statement.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: A valid point by the poster.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: CC is missing a troll from under it's bridge. Admin please remove this troll.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Poorly put but there is a point in there. The airline and pilots should have never allowed their plane over the area.

This poster posted a lot of ugly stuff. Transparency page is showing now and I would venture to guess they do not have much time left on DU.

But, I did not see any pro-fascist posts in his history. It appears to me as though you may be trying to co-opt the term to divert it away from our native fascists right here in the Democratic party.

In a fascist state, the state is paramount, not corporations.

But the businesses/corporations play a very important role in the fascist state and the fascist state can not exist but for their support.

The wiki definition which matches most closely to my personal definition is:
Marxists argue that fascism represents the last attempt of a ruling class (specifically, the capitalist bourgeoisie) to preserve its grip on power in the face of an imminent proletarian revolution. Fascist movements are not necessarily created by the ruling class, but they can only gain political power with the help of that class and with funding from big business. Once in power, the fascists serve the interests of their benefactors (not necessarily the interests of capitalism in general, but the interests of those specific capitalists who put them in power).

Franklin D. Roosevelt wrote about fascism: "The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power"
