Kidding. It was a great moment. I remember as a kid going out on the lawn and looking up at the moon to see if I could see them up there (I was about six years old, not Sarah Palin).

taken in 2012 my the lunar reconnaissance orbiter from 15 miles high. the bright spot in the middle is the lunar module and the dark paths around the lm are the tracks left by aldrin and armstrong
