and the thousands of Dutch folks who lined the streets.

(90,681 posts)It just brought tears to my eyes. Each coffin was brought down and carried by military pallbearers, each coffin had its own hearse. The Dutch were according honor and dignity to the dead that they had been denied in the ruins of the plane, where their bodies and luggage had been looted, their bodies left to rot on the ground.

(106,886 posts)Thousands of Dutch lined the roadways and the overpasses en route. Some holding flowers, some taking pictures, some applauding the return, some singing, some standing silently. It was really very moving. Simple and heartfelt.

My thoughts are with all who are suffering.
