Did Osama Bin Laden win?

Just read the Jeremy Scahill piece on how easy it is to be put on the terrorist watch list.

Unbelievable.

Stupid people react stupidly...not complicated

But thanks for the question and the point you are making, we forget just how easily manipulated we all are in the name of safety.

Hell, the rest of the world aint so safe, why do we think we have to be safer than anyone else?

Why do we think people want to kill Westerners?

Did they just wake up one day and want to or did the West do all nature of horrific shit to bring it on?

Because they prefer to die than live. Same as Hamas. They all prefer death to life. This is why they continue fighting Israel to their death.

Hamas motto: "We love death as much as the Jews love life".

and successfully recognized that we would gladly destroy our freedoms ourselves with the right prompting.

Yeah, he's dead but I figure he was alive far longer than he must ever thought he'd be. He can give thanks to Bush for "I don't think about him much anymore..."

Those who used the message propagated the message, and those who fed on it lost.

He lost, we lost, everyone lost, but the blame spreads far beyond him.

At some point we must repeal the patriot act and drop secret watch lists to push back his gains

Chertoff sold us fear and then went and sold us full body scanners in the airports.

He certainly changed how the US operates, and not for the better. He, with the help of bush and co., has ripped apart the Middle East and spread fundamentalism. So, several of his big goals were reached.

We don't know yet how it will all play out. So, he didn't win the war.

while destroying our international good will and whatever moral high ground we could argue.

By what definition could we be said not to lose and lose big?
