Market Basket has long set a high standard for how it treats its customers and its employees. Throughout Massachusetts and New England, the company and its workers have been great neighbors and important members of our communities. This is a very difficult situation, and I applaud the thousands of Market Basket employees for making their voices heard.
It is my understanding that there are ongoing discussions that may bring a resolution to this matter. It is my sincere hope that an agreement will be reached expeditiously and that Market Basket will continue to be a strong community-based business that maintains its reputation for excellence in customer service and the treatment of employees.
