FARGO, N.D. (AP) A single mother in Fargo says she hoped to set an example for her 7-year-old daughter when she returned a wallet containing $1,000 that the two found while running errands.
Sadie Hill and her daughter, Adalee, found the wallet Monday in a parking lot. Hill said she works two jobs to make ends meet and could have used the money, but knew the right thing to do.
"The only option was to return it," she said. "But, I called my mom and I said, 'You know, God is really testing me today.'"

(2,805 posts)It isn't finder's keepers when you know who lost it. She did the right thing.
A bank envelope with a thousand dollars and no identification would be a real test for me. If I turned it into a nearby store, who is to say if the store would do the right thing? Definitely would be a a test for me.

(89,248 posts)i don't think i would take it to a nearby store either .
but i might report it to the police because i assume if a person lost that much they would at least report it to the police.
