Newt Gingrich: I'm 'Slightly Less Than' $4.5 Million In Debt

I'm guessing the Bat phone to Sheldon Adelson has been disconnected.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Newt Gingrich acknowledged on Sunday that his campaign was in fairly massive debt. But the former House Speaker continued to stress that he would remain in the race for purposes of driving the party, and its platform, in certain ideological directions.

Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Gingrich was asked about a report that his campaign had spent roughly $4.5 million more than it had raised.

"I think slightly less than that," he replied, declining to offer a more specific number. "We owe much more than we wanted to. Florida got to be a real brawl. And I think, unfortunately, our guys tried to match Romney and it turned out we didn't have anything like his capacity to raise money."

He should not have spent before making sure he had enough in contributions to cover it. That's what he dictates for the government and for people personally. Why does it not apply to his campaign?

In the days before the convention, Newt will go into cloistered negotiations with Romney.

Newt will come out, find a microphone, and declare Romney 'safe for conservative consumption'.

Romney will be absolved of all his past flip-flops, and 'Newt Approved'.

And a large donor will quietly pay down Newt's debt.

Wherever Newt is talking, he needs to be asked some form of financial responsibility question along the lines of:

Your campaign went 4.5 million into debt while you were calling for financial responsibility in government and the general population. I'm a little short on rent this month. Can you hook me up with the anonymous donors that took care of your debt for you?

I swear the man is dumber than a pet rock by a long shot. Smarts and intelligence is not exclusive to one another. some say he is an intelligent person, I can't say anything to that but I know he's not very smart. That I do know
