BBC report on systemic torture in Iraq

The video is 51 minutes long. It is extremely disturbing. It is the story of the advisor's who were assigned by the military to set up the militias as an elite police force. The architect is former Colonel James Steel who also worked with the Sandinista in El Salvatore. He learned his techniques in Viet-Nam.

This should not be viewed at work. It should not be viewed by anyone who is offended easily. It should never have happened.

I've watched it. I feel sick. I will have trouble sleeping later. I said systemic because the military ordered the units to stop logging any signs of torture and only pursue if ordered. If you wonder why we are losing in Iraq. Watch this video. If you wonder why Americans are hated in South America, wonder no more.

I am fairly good with words. But I don't know of any that describe the revulsion I feel after watching that news report. If you can watch that video and still defend torture, then you have no heart nor any soul.

Edit: BainsBane pointed out I probably named the wrong group in El Salvadore. BainsBane is almost certainly correct.

or with Somoza before then. The US government sought to overturn the Sandinista government.
